“I was always intrigued towards software. I am really happy to follow my passion”. Meet Subhrajit, a software engineer from Kolkata, West Bengal. He has completed his bachelor’s in technology from Lovely Professional University. He started his career as a software developer at LeadSquared and then worked at Neetable before joining Springworks. Subhrajit is a multitasker as he is doing his MBA in Data Science and also works as a developer.
Let’s take a look at his journey!
Why did you join Springworks?
There is a saying “ Everything happens for a reason”. I never knew an unfortunate accident would get me an opportunity at Springworks. While I was working at my previous organization, I met with an accident which required me to Work From Home but the company couldn’t accommodate me. Hence, I started to look for remote opportunities. That’s when my friends who worked at Springworks reached out and told me about the job openings. I heard only great things about Springworks. The hiring team did a great job with the follow-ups. Bhargavi and Sudip helped me throughout the entire process.
What do you do as a Software Development Engineer at Springworks?
I work as a developer for Toro. The language I code is React JS. My day-in and day-out work are to write lines of code in JavaScript. Most of my work is contributed towards React Storybook.
As a developer, the lines of code vary on a daily basis and it does get tedious. Some days it may be just 10 lines, whereas on other days it can exceed 100.
What do you like about Springworks?
It’s difficult to name one. But, one thing that stood out to me is the value champion “ Own your work”. It just doesn’t exist in the manifesto but it is put into practice. It shows how much the company and the team trust the employee. As I am given autonomy to handle tasks which boosts my confidence. The company truly values their employees.
Walk us through a day in the life of Subhrajit
My day starts at 09:00 a.m. and I spend an hour getting ready for work. I start work at 10:00 a.m. and spend my next hours on the development cycle. My standup call is at noon. Then, I take a lunch break at 2:00 p.m. and I get back to coding. I finish my work at 06:00 p.m. and log off from work around 07:00 p.m. After work, I either play my guitar or spend my time beside the Ganges. This break helps me to refresh and restart my work the next day.
What is your favourite product among EngageWith and Trivia?
My favourite product is EngageWith. It is a morale booster and makes you feel good. It helps me to give my best and I always look forward to my next “Kudos” 🙂
What is your goal and how is the opportunity helping you achieve it?
Working as a software developer at Springworks challenges me to set my best foot forward.
Every day I get better at coding. I always wanted to lead a team where I could integrate my passion for tech and management. I would like to work towards that goal. This hands-on experience will make me a better leader in the future.
